SǑYUN:

AS SOON AS HE SITS CLOSER  she can feel a warmth budding in her chest, threatening to spill over.  what he said had merit to it.  what kind of girl went over to a stranger’s house simply because she’d met them on some weird app on a phone that wasn’t even hers?  sŏyun felt her face heat in embarrassment at the sense of it all.  it had been brash of her, but when he was complaining about being stuck inside all day only eating chips  —-  well she just hadn’t seen another way to solve the issue other than making sure he ate something real with her own eyes.  smiling as he began to eat, sŏyun found herself focusing on how pale his skin seemed.  the bags under his eyes.

fingers twitched as he leaned closer to her, assuring her that he was always okay though the words did little to reassure her doubt of that fact.  he didn’t look okay  —-  no amount of words would make him seem completely okay when he looked like he was about to pass out from exhaustion.  without thinking, sŏyun reached her hand out  &  placed it against his forehead.  much to her dismay, his skin was warmer than it should have been  &  clammy.  but as soon as she realized what she was doing sŏyun snapped her hand away  &  felt her face heat even more.

❛  i’m afraid it feels like you have a fever.  ❜   it wasn’t hot in his home so there was no way he could blame the heat  &  worry once again began to crease her brow.  how much sleep had he missed to begin having a fever from it?  sŏyun leaned back  &  tried not to look at him so intently.  though she did plan on talking to him about it once he was done eating.  she didn’t want to spoil his appetite.  chewing on the inside of her lip out of nervousness as she looked around at the clutter.  empty soda cans  &  chip bags littered one particular area of the house.

sŏyun cleared her throat finally, turning to face luciel once more.  a hand tucking her hair behind her ear as she tilted her head.  leaning just a little closer, she wanted to reach out and touch the bags under his eyes.  she wanted to comfort him  —-  but that was not her place.   ❛  how long have you gone without sleep, luciel?  be honest.  ❜

❛  eh — ah?!          the touch took him by surprise merely sitting there blinking rapidly. a fever? that never happened before, or maybe … no. he was never the one to get sick it was always the other half. his jaw locked trying to contain any sense of discomfort and instead he forced out that joker, that cheerful gleaming boy.      ❛  should I pull something Zen would say like …. [ clear throat . deepening voice ] I’m so warm … because I have the most beautiful girl next to me ~ ❜      that idea made him laugh hard enough he leaned back the opposite direction away from her grasping at his sides. it was always good to laugh, but this was a way to escape.

                              ❛  ah — ah … but I am seriously fine … seriously.

he tucked strands of stray curled hair behind his ear to keep it out of his food. taking another large bite, simply to calm her. he actually had no appetite, maybe he did at first. with each motion he was feeling weaker. maybe he truly was sick.    maybe he should call V.   no he couldn’t appear weak in front of anyone.   I’M FINE … I’M FINE.   once he was told if you tell yourself that long enough your body would believe it. the stares of the female made him   n e r v o u s,  uncomfortable, as if he had to be careful of his every move.

NO ONE CARED FOR HIM THIS WAY. ( it was rather odd. ).

he would prefer if the entire world hated him.   he knows he does.   one final bite and that’s all he could take. a ting of pain hitting nerves that made it difficult to swallow. but he managed and managed to hide it as well.      ❛  thanks for the food———       another question, another gesture of kindness.   IT HAD TO STOP.   he couldn’t get use to it, he couldn’t get use to the idea of having someone this close. so … the mode of cold seemed to shut on.     ANYTHING TO KEEP HER SAFE.          I told you I’m fine … I get plenty of rest, okay?

he was going to prove it , but instead he proved himself    WRONG.    as soon as he stood up to show her to the door a blurred vision and flash of dizziness over swept his body.    EXHAUSTION, STRESS, LACK OF FOOD    all finally caught up to him, and boy did it hit hard. a flash of a memory the similar face to his with beaten and bruised skin flashed before him.      … Saer———?!        dropped and collapsed     to the floor, his head almost cracking against the table in front of them both. he couldn’t feel anything , he couldn’t see or hear anything. his body overpowering with flashes of constant heat. but he knew he was there he new he existed.   was this death?     if so he would surely   welcome  it. but the darkness that engulfed him did not feel as comforting as the end.
